This paper grew out of the research work carried out in the U.K on Fixed-Odd Betting Terminals (FOBT) machines. The work used the Excel-based Roulette simulation in a case study for 50 regular Roulette players in London, Manchester and Glasgow in order to examine their playing and betting behaviour when playing Roulette. The simulation results of playing and betting behaviour then constituted an ideal set of data to interrogate individual playing and betting strategy in Roulette. The paper then develops the concept of player vulnerability in Roulette and slot machine play, and this concept is discussed at length.
